Did it lose fuel, spark, or both? Can you hear the fuel pump running? I would take 5 minutes and pull codes from the computer (see tests at www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html) and see if the computer gives any indication to why it stalled.

thanks alot for the help man, Im pretty shure it lost fuel cause it almots acted like it was out of gas but obviously it wasnt. How do i listen for the fuel pump to run?, What does it sound like???

thanks again man Kyle

Fuel pump is in the fuel tank. Sounds like an electric motor (hum or buzz) running inside the tank. Note that it runs for a few seconds when the key is turned to on then shuts off (or that's what it should do). There's a test lead in the short end of the self test connector (see about any repair manual for a diagram) that you can ground to run the fuel pump (key on).

smelled burning coolent...

Could this have anything to do with the radiator/cooling system.

almost sounds like a bad fuel pump.. i replaced the one in my moms explorer not too long ago.... however the cburning coolant? that part sounds wierd.....

Ditto the fuel pump... When you first put in the key to run you should hear a motor buzz from the rear tank for 2-3 secs. This action helps pressurize the fuel lines in preparation for starting.. Once you crank the engine the fuel pump will run the entire time, but you'll probably not hear it over all other vehicle noises. I'd check the fuel pump fuse to see if it is blown and see if the fuel pump cut off swich has been tripped.
