My blower motor would work intermittenly, when I tapped on it it would start. Went to Autozone and all they had was a Siemenns replacement motor looked the same except it has a pig tail for the connector to plug into instead of the motor itself. When I mounted it I noticed the hole in the motor housing for the rubber tube is in a slightly different spot. Now the rubber tube has a kink in it. How important is that little rubber tube that goes from where the motor brushes are to the blower box. What does it do? Thanks for all replies.

If I remember correctly the tube is to used to cool the motor with air. How important? I don't really know but somebody at Ford does.
