93 4x4 switch not workin

i have a 93 Sport, my buddy has a 92,my parents have a 93, all three of them at one point has had the(from what they tell us)motor switch gone out, the one about the left rear tire, and its going to be 300 bucks, does anyone know a quick fix???

Try the tips on this site under 4x4 or transfer case problems. Motor may just need cleaning or adjustment.

Ford has "sold" a ton of those $300 motors over the years when all that was probably required in alot of cases was to remove,clean and/or reposition the motor itself. We did that on my 91 Sport two years ago and its still working perfectly, I just drove home with it on in a snow storm the other day!
