93 Driver's Side window Bushings Replacement

Great Thread!

Thanks for all the help now I need to go out and tackle this on my rig.
:us::salute:

3. Here is the bolt exposed. 8mm socket size for all 3 bolts:
My 93' uses 6mm bolts. Lost one and had to go replace it so that's why this stuck in head.

FOLLOW UP: Stopped by the FoMoCo parts department. They looked up the drawing for the model/year and said there are RIVETS that held the motor onto the door, not flange bolts! Go figure!

The bolts on my motor are "special" flange bolts because the hex head is smaller than a "standard" flange bolt. I suppose they didn't want to make the hole for the RIVET GUN any bigger yet they only have two holes and a dimple for the third!

insta fix for less than $1

When I purchased my 92 Explorer all four windows would not work properly, getting stuck in numerous positions and needing my help to raise & lower them. I pulled out the window motor on all 4 doors and once they were opened the old bushings where in hundreds of little pieces. I pulled out my nuts & bolts drawer and found the right size nuts to replace the old plastic bushings. Bam, put them in, greased the gear an put it all back together and now they all work as they should. The correct replacement bushings may not be all that expensive but with all 4 windows down and the rain on its way, my rigged version has worked fine.
