Well that was effing a pain in the @ss. So my headlights....and yours....won't go off. Crikie! Been all over the place with this trying to find a true answer for 3hrs today and 2 more at 1am last night. No matter what you do they won't go off, and you finally pulled the battery negative....right. Now your looking for the damn headlight 'resistor'.....(like you will do for the heater resistor when the fan stays on high....its on the plenum next to the blower motor). THE ANSWER my friend is the damn switch to the bottom right on the mirror for the dimmer. I think my wife turned it on earlier while waiting for me in the car while it was -2º yesterday. Everywhere I looked online I see that there is an issue with the....resistor. Can anyone tell me where.....exactly.....on this rig, the 93, where it would be...if its even there.....'cause I've looked everywhere for it? Just want to know for future if its an issue....which it will be eh. I see a module just behind the battery on the front rail, but it looks to me to be the 'computer'...???. I sure hope this ANSWER has helped someone out there save a headache and 5hrs of searching. (No....my Ford dealer will not help....always packed and will not answer the easiest questions). A DIY situation.

4 years late , you appear to have never received, "welcome to explorer forum!".
Owning a very late '94 xlt 2wd,... Don't know what you are specifically referencing. May be more helpful to future users if you put "limited" in your title, as your issue likely won't apply to most 93 owners.
Not recalling your issue as described on EF before, if your master headlight switch didn't override the "electronic eye" circuitry, but the selector on the mirror did , your main issue may still be master headlight switch. Haven't troubleshooted a 93-94 limited specifically, but if your issue can be solved with a button that disables a sub feature, and wasn't solved by a master control, it suggests your master control is malfunctioning. Could be wrong. again, never reviewed the limited diagrams or actual vehicle. But your description is similar to issue & resolution scenario that has been personally observed in other vehicles where master control was faulty.
