93 ford ranger XLT help with codes

i have a 93 ford ranger Xlt 4wd 3.0L supercab and im get a code 157 R,M) Mass Air Flow signal is/was low or grounded – MAF. what does that mean?

could be damaged sensor, bad ground, etc. its basically low voltage. id start by cleaning the maf and see where that goes as long as theres no obvious shorts etc

already cleaned it and i cleared the codes and it showed back up
