93 Ranger idles weird

I have a 93 Ranger that in park,or when stopped in Drive, has a 'bouncing idle' problem. The tach goes from 1000 to 2500 rpm and back.

Also, when I start it cold and leave the accelerator alone, it will most times lug down and die. I've replaced the MAF sensor to no help.

I had a similar problem on my 97. It was the (IAC) Idle Air Control valve. I purchased the part at Advance Auto for $45. It took about 10 minutes to change.
