Hey guys, I got my intake manifold gaskets replaced today by my buddy's shop. It idles much better when the engine is cold, but I noticed when I coast from going 25 or start using the brakes my rpms go up to about 1200 like the gas pedal isn't released all the way. Is there something that has to be adjusted?

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes so the computer will reset itself. Donno if that'll help but who knows

look around, and make sure you have no vacuum lines unhooked, or listen for any hissing. i think they may have missed one.

I'll check tomorrow when it's light out to see if there's any line that got disconnected. Could disconnecting the batt work? I thought it was more the gas pedal sticking, but it only does it when I use the brakes and come to a stop..

So far it hasn't been doing it since the first day, must've just been some gunk in there that cleared out or something.

if the idle goes up when you hit the brakes, it usually means you have a leak inside your brake booster. try starting the engine and stepping on the brake pedal. if the idle speed increases your brake booster is leaking internally.

It did it again twice today, and hasn't since. I stepped on the brake and haven't noticed it increase RPMS while in park. If it's the brake booster wouldn't this act up each time I use the brakes? I need help. :(

yes, it would do it do matter what gear you're in. you'd be causing a vacuum leak by depressing the brake pedal.

So if it's not doing it every time would it be something else? It does it at different times.

Maybe check your throttle cable and linkage and make sure it isn't getting snagged up by something. I've seen this happen where something is routed just a bit too close and will sometimes snag the cable or linkage. Not very common, but it's easy to check.
