I've got a 1993 Explorer Sport 4x4 and I need the Speed Control Cable that runs between the Speed Control Servo and the Throttle Linkage. Cable end is broken off, so I definately need a new one.

I've gone to the local Ford dealer (Douglas in Summit, NJ), and was told that Ford no longer makes the part. According to the Parts Catalog, it's Part Number 9A825.

I then went to a parts store, and they had no listing for it. One option I guess is a junkyard, but I'd rather get a new part if possible.

Does anyone know who made these parts for Ford (I'd guess that Ford did not make it themselves), and if I'd be able to get the part from them?

Check with Tory @ FPN...

I have found that they sometimes don't list a part for one year, even though it exists on a newer vehicle (same exact part) and is still available..

If that doesn't work, a speedo shop may be able to make you one or it may be time for a junk yard.

I assume this is true. Ford has a history of being horrible with part numbers.
