I have been using speed control often for several years with no problems until a day ago. On the road, control working fine, the dash light went out and control just stopped. I wanted to check the fuse, but, my owner's manual gives no indication as to which in-cabin fuse is the right one. So, I checked each one. All are fine.
Any suggestions?

The old models of cruise control used vaccum, but now I believe that they are pure electronic relying on feedbacks from a variety of sensors. The fuse box in the engine compartment may be where the fuse location for it is.

Here is a link on the Ford system. It looks like in 06 they are still using a vaccum setup so you may want to check for vaccum leaks in the primary system.
