I have a 93X 2WD A4LD trans. I want to put a temp. gauge in I got an extra pan off eBay he said it would work.
First question will it work It’s a little different. The bolt pattern looks the same the depth looks about rite. The bottom of the original has like a round dropped down sump and in the one corner there is a round depression that is not on the replacement either.
My pan
Will this pan work???
My plan is to take off the original pan put the replacement on. Then take the original pan drill and weld on a bung for the sending unit.
See the RED dot in the photo would this be a good location. Not sure how much room is inside but from the outside it looks good away from exhaust, shift linkage, bolts & on driver’s side. I have an electronic gauge the sender doesn't look like it would stick in too far. Is there a better place to put it.
Another view of replacment pan. Will this pan work on my Trans.
Thanks for your help
