oil pressure sending unit location

i have a 2001 explorer xls 6cly. sohc. where is the oil pr. sending unit located? i was told it was on the passenger side and was easy to get to and it had a single green wire on it. i see nothing on top is it underneat? i have a haynes book but naturally it realy doesn't so it. any help would be a great help.

Dunno if it is the same as my 2000 or not but, I just worked on mine yesterday.

It is on the drivers side behind the power steering pump. You will see a unit roughly the size of a bic disposable lighter.

I gained acess to mine by raising the left front and removing the wheel and the fender liner.

Most all F.ords have the oil sending unit there at the front left of the engine. Welcome to the site.
