94 Eddie Bauer left tail light wiring

Hi, a drunk ran into my Explorer and destroyed the driver's side tail light. His truck was totaled and undrivable, but the "Exploder" keeps going. I need to come up with a temporary fix and need to attach the existing wiring to an aftermarket trailer tail light. There are 3 wires, Major, Minor and Ground on the wiring harness but only two on the trailer tail light. Is the Major for the running lights and Minor for the brake and turnsignal?

Don't know for your year, but you can use a voltage meter to find out by having someone push the brake pedal down while you test the wires, turn the lights on and test, and finally turn signal on and test.
