This question has probably been covered many times, but I haven't found it yet. I recently replaced all four ball joints, which required that I remove the two abs sensors. I will admit that I was a bit rough with them, both removing and reinstalling, as they were frozen in place. I noticed today that my ABS light comes on now after the first hard brake after each restart of the engine. I hesitate to just replace them with new before doing some troubleshooting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I did the same -- removed them, and was a little rough on them -- and I too get the ABS light now, although mine comes on as soon as I pass 10 mph. I suspect that I should replace both front sensors, but I have never gotten around to it. In for other suggestions.

Also, is there a way to read our ABS codes?

Another thing to check is the tone ring, make sure no teeth are missing.

Hey, thanks for the information. The abs test port on my 94 explorer has four active pins; 3 on the bottom (A,B,C?) and one on top (E?). Wire colors are A, Black/Blue, B, green, C, white/blue, and E, black. I just want to make sure I am using the correct ports. I found another link that said to attach a test light to Bk and G and then jump BK/BL to BK. Nothing happened, and the light just stayed on. Thanks!

So I messed around some more and I was able to pull the code (75), but had to read the dash, as my test light was not flashing. Not sure why.....
