the trim doesnt need to be removed... the factory player will slide out with a $3 din removal tool from wal*mart

if you do need to get the dash off

Just unscrew the screws on the bottom of dash board under your steering wheel on the drivers side and the ones just below your radio opening at the bottom of your dash. You will have to put your truck into gear and make sure you have blocks behind the wheels so, she don't roll backwards if your on an incline. The dash can then be taken out and the radio put in. I had to take the dash out for my new radio and it wasn't hard to do at all. I had the whole thing apart and new radio in within 45 minutes.

what is a "din removal tool" ? Will a paperclip work? where do I use it and how?

looks like a pitch fork with a couple teeth missing, you just put it in the holes and the radio should come right out very easy to do

You can use regular coat hanger wire, bent into the correct shape, instead of buying the tool... It'll save you a few bucks, and it works every bit as well. That's what I used.

i installed the same head unit into my 93'. took about 15 min and it was my 1st time. just get the keys everyone is talking about at walmart, pop out the old factory radio and wire the new one up and pop it in. its really really easy!!

whan you put a coathanger in the holes do you have to put one on each side? and pull both sides at once? how do you use the coat hanger? I tried this, but I couldnt figure out what I was trying to push or grab with the ends

Cut two sections of wire out of a coat hanger, each about 8 inches long. Then bend each piece into a U shape that is the same width as the holes... You will be able to use them to remove the stock radio.

Once you have them in the U shape just stick them in the 4 holds about 4 inches deep or until you feel the clips scraping then once both sides are done pull the HU straight be carefull not to bust the plastic clip running on that rail, you might need a little extra pressure to make it come loose. But DO NOT Yank it . Thats what i did and i messed alot of things up, I didnt know ford had a special radio tool so i totaled my Stock HU

cool thanks guys, I tried it and yanked it flawlessly :) my new HU fits perfect, just have to buy a wiring harness.
