94 Explorer
hi guys, im new here, my name is Dusty, from Whitney Point NY, i have a irratating problem. As stated i have a 94 Ford Explorer, 130K ish miles 4.0. when i bought the truck i had to replace the 4x4 auto hub on the passenger side becuase it was ground up to hell inside, and replaced the spring collar (?) as well, got all parts from a local junk yard, now the ones i took off didnt look the same as the ones on it, but the did fit and did work, but now4-5 months later i havean odd clunking/banging noise comming from the front end, i took the wheel off and checked it and the axle nut was (after the clip was removed from the underside of the axle nut was only had tight. calling ford got me the torqe spec of 107 Ft/LBS and was tighted accordingly, out side wheel beering was repacked, and everything put back together, no more clanging or banging, but it still does not "feel" right, it shimmys when you put on the breaks (ok i think it needs rotors in the front, i put new breaks on the front a month ago) and it pulls to right (passngers side) when you let the wheel go, not severley but its noticable. it just seems to ride rougher than it should. any andvice/suggestions? im not terribly fimmiler with explorer/ranger front ends, ive had F-250/350's my whole life (yes the small explorer feels too damn small) so im accoustom to their front ends, that and tractors ( i work as a Mechanic for John Deere) thanks!

I would put new rotors on it and torque both sides down the same and if that don't cure your problem maybe one of your brakes is sticking. I had that problem on my f150 (pulls to right (passngers side)) when I first got it cause the previous owner used 2 anti rattle clips instead of one, which caused the inside brake pad to stick to the rotor. You should probably pick up a repair manual for your explorer too. It'll help you get to know the explorers a little better.
