I bought this truck recently, and the heater fan has only worked once. That was with a tight left turn.

I've check the ground strap, it is broken, but if I manually jump a ground, it still doesn't work either.

Probably going to play around with it tomorrow, but is there a common problem or something I should look for?

One (common) problem that may not be related to your situation is a faulty blower motor resistor. If it's shot, the fan will only operate at one speed. There are lots of threads on this problem.

The fan won't operate at all. I even tried running a ground wire straight from the battery to one of the fan bolts. Didn't work either.

The ground strap thats on the side wall beside the fan, does that hook up to the fan somewhere?

There is power at the power distributon box for the fan motor, and i tried switching relays. Nothing happened.

here is a picture of the broken ground strap. where does it run to:

its fixed now. Heater blower relay is intermittent. Switched it with the a/c relay, and it works fine. Even the a/c works fine with the swapped relay. Weird.

Anyone knows where that ground strap goes to? I'm still curious.

The ground strap in your picture is used to ground the hood. Glad to hear you solved the heater issue
