I have been in the process of trying to get my explorer running right and recently had a mechanic replace the head gaskets, after which I devoloped a massive oil leak. It looks like it is coming from above the oil pan and around the oil filter. My mechanic is telling me he thinks it's a rear main seal, but I am afraid something else is wrong like leaking from behind the intake. The truck does have a lot of miles, 130,000 or so, but it never leaked any oil before the head gasket job. Has any one seen a rear main seal suddenly develop like that after an over-haul or is it more likely the intake isn't down tight? Also if anyone has a picture or diagram of the vacuum lines on the driver's side? Any input is greatly appreciated!
