My '94 sometimes makes a whining noise (seems to be in front) when accelerating and decelerating then stops suddenly with a loud clunk you can
feel in the gas peddle. After that it sounds normal until it does again a few days later . I had all the brakes checked out thinking a pad might be sticking.
My mechanic said their ok. He said bring it to me when it makes the noise,
but each time it stops before I get there ...... Any ideas ?
thanks - solardad

The only thing that comes to my mind is the 4x4 hubs are doing god knows what but it sounds like they are the problem. I would get them checked out.

Maybe they are locked or something and through all the driving they start to very slowly bind up and then it finally jumps and just slowly starts binding up again and repeats the cycle. Sorry I'm not the best at helping. I'm learning though.

Thanks for the reply murkinstock. I'll check out the hubs .
