I have a '94 with the JBL sound. The head unit said the word bad on it for a couple of days and now it won't turn on or do anything. Is there anything that can be done to fix this. I have checked the fuses under the dash and they are both good. If I can't fix it I will get a new head unit. If I have to get a new head unit can I still use the stock amps to drive the speakers? I really don't want to have to get a new sub woofer too. Any information that you guys can get me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Any aftermarket reciever will hook right up, as long as you get the wiring harness that will go with it. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, JVC has some nice cd players for 160. Pioneer also makes decent priced ones. You don't need a mounting bracket, so don't let the store try and fool you, like they tried on me.

Will the wiring harness still let me be able to use the sub too? I have been told that the stock head unit is really just a receiver and that it doesn't power the speakers. There are two amps that came from the factory, will a new head unit hook up to the stock amps with out any problems?
