Yes, but it has to be a hardened T20 security bit, with the hole in the center. I used "liquid Torch" to help loosen the screws, so that they wouldn't shear.

Before doing the job, thoroughly read Brain's and Jeff Singleton's shift motor overhaul threads. They are excellent, especially Brain's.

Other tips:

Accurately mark the position of the position sensor/gear cover, before removing it, so you can get it back exactly the same. Once the 3 cover screws are out, the cover can be rotated. There is no keying on it.

When reassembling the motor, I found it easiest to tie back the brushes with small wire, then insert the armature into the gear housing, turning it counterclockwise. Then cut the wires you used to hold the brushes back. Finally, slide the motor housing over the armature. If you have the armature snugged down into the gear housing, the magnets in the motor housing will not pull it out.
