Ive had an intermittent no-start problem since Ive purchased this truck with 223k on the clock. I know when it would start because when the idiot lights turn on when you turn the key, the check engine light would be illuminated when it was going to start. (When it stayed off, I knew it wasnt going to start)
So, long story short, I had my truck off the beaten path, took on a bit of water, truck quit. Towed it most of the way out of the woods, The truck would start on ether, but would quit right after.
My question is:
After changing the oil and drying it out, what method should I take to diagnose this problem? What should I check first? I assume the truck is not getting fuel as it starts on ether. I cannot afford to send it into the shop.
