94 Radiator Removal

Hello! I am new to the forum, but have had my 94 XLT for 5 years now. Done some work to it such as replacing the water pump, TPS, and regular maintenance. Now, I have a cracked radiator and need to remove it. I know there are the 3 hoses and 5 bolts attached to the radiator, those are the easy part. I need some suggestions on how to remove the A/T cooling lines and the AC lines please. Thank you!

Are you trying to remove the radiator or the a/c condenser? If ya trying to remove the radiator only. Remove the upper and lower hoses remove the overflow tube. Then just use a end wrench to remove the trans cooler lines nothing special here Then it only has 2 bolts holding it in place remove those and lift it out.

I just replaced the radiator in my 94 this weekend. The trans line is 5/8 and the fitting it threads into is 3/4 (wrench sizes). I wish you good luck, I had to use a torch & keep spraying the fittings down with Break-Away to get both lines to come loose. The new radiator came with 2 different sizes of brass fittings for the trans lines to screw into, mine took the bigger fitting. One thing I did find was that the fan was cracked in multiple places in between the blades. No one had one, parts stores, local dealer or salvage yards. So, we used 2 part epoxy and time will tell. If I notice it cracking more I'll have to replace it. The radiator would have been an easy job IF the trans. lines would have cooperated.

Thank you! I appreciate the help very much. I haven't gotten another radiator yet, instead I tried using JB Weld because it's just a hairline crack. If that doesn't work, I will replace the radiator next weekend. Thanks again for the sizes and issues to be expected.

I got my radiator locally for $135 bucks just so you have an idea.
