94 Speedo Problems

hey guys...i'm new to this site and need your help...yesterday i was running 55 mph and all of a sudden the speedoniter jumped up to 85 mph...now it seems that it is reading higher than actual speed...any ideas would be helpful...thanks again for this site

most likely its your speed sensor, i just replaced me speedometer cable and speed sensor, and in total it only cost me around $30.00

how hard is it to replace those...where is the speed sensor?

Speed sensor is near the tail shaft housing on the back of the tranny.

Ive had mine off before...not hard to do at all.
