hi everyone, first post for me
any help would be greatly appreciated
i got a 95 ranger 2.3l and this problem only started happening recently, after the truck stands for about 1 to 2 hours when i start it the rpm's are quite high in the 2k range but it drops down and when it gets lower than 1 it starts straggling and dies, if i start it again it runs ok. when the truck stands for a longer period of time (over night) and i go to start it a similar thing happes but it doesnt die, when the rpm's drop below 1k it also struggles but then the rpms jump back up to over 2k and then eventually it stabelizes. it also has a rought idle, it misfires from time to time.
i changes out all 8 plugs(twin plug) and wires

...I would first check for stored codes...Did you have this problem before you changed the wires and plugs???

yes it was before changing the wires
im goigng to try and clean the maf today see if that changes anything
also i doeble checked the plugs and wires and one wire wasnt in all the way so i pushed it in and checked the other wires but the problem still occures

clean the maf, then unhook your battery for 10-15 mins to reset it all

....This has happened on my 95 Ranger but, since there are no stored codes...:dunno:

i got the sensor cleaned, the truck runs and idles better than ever!!! but i think the rpm's are still abit too high on atartup about 1000 to 1600 rpm
any ideas?
by the way i was under the car the other day and noticed that the o2 sensor that is before the cat is broken, can that affect performance and mileage or will it work fine with one sensor(the one after the cat)
