I just bought a 1995 2wd Sport. Truck only has 81000 miles on it and is in really good shape...except for the transmission. I knew it was leaking when I bought it. I drove it a couple of blocks home with the truck leaving a trail of fluid behind it. I put it in the air and took off the shift linkage to find a 2x2 hole in the case. It is just to the rear of one of the band adjusters. It looks like something inside came out violently. So I am now looking for a different trans. Which model tranny do I have, or how do I find out? What other years or vehicles used the same trans? Thanks for your help.

Mike

I feel like an idiot but I'm still not sure if the truck has a A4LD or a 4R55E. In the listing it shows the 4R55e in the transmission section, but shows the A4LD below in the fuel economy section. Could it be either? Thanks, Mike

I am unaware of any A4LD use in Explorers past 1994.

Thanks. So it should be safe to say I have the 4R55E? I know you made it pretty clear, but I want to be sure. Are there any other applications besides the Ranger and Explorer that will work? What other years will work with the electrics? Thanks again, Mike
