this 95 4.0 when started wont idle, or when coming to a stop you have to keep one foot on the brake and one on the gas to keep it running. It happens only once in awhile, and after you take off and drive awhile it is ok. I thought it would be the TPS, but it goes away after you get down the road which seems that it would be fuel related. any help?

I had that problem when I had a vacuum leak. The engine can't maintain enough vacuum at idle to keep cranking. A broken hose or gasket may be your problem.

It also could be the Idle Air Control motor.

The IAC and/or TPS could be the culprits even if it runs OK on the highway.

One other thing is the 95's are prone to a fuel system vapor lock on hot days when the vehicle is driven short distances and turned off and on. And it is an intermitent thing. You may want to try a different brand of gas. This happened to me and it seemed to help.

Thanks fellas for the info. I did clean out the IAC motor we will see if that helped. Thanks again.
