I just had a complete overhaul on my 95 4spd tranny.
From a stop, it will up shift perfectly. Over 55 mph, it will downshift perfectly. But, when decelerating between 25 and 55 mph, when I hit the gas, it drops down into 1st, redlines the engine, and then shifts into second jerking my head off. When it does it at 45-55 mph, if feels like it is going into a neutral. Going around a corner at low speeds, no matter how easy I roll the throttle on, it shifts all the way down into 1st, and immediatly into second. Going around a corner at a low speed, if I mash it to the floor, same thing. It never wants to stay in 1st unless I am leaving from a stop. So, why does it go there if it is the wrong gear for the load?
I took it back to the guy that repaired it. He replaced the transmission speed sensor and the throttle position sensor. No change. He said it might be because my ABS light is on, and there is an error code "C1206 Rear inlet valve circuit fault". He suggested replacing the RAB sensor on the differential. I did. No change. He seems to think it is shifting the way it should. It never did it before, but he said maybe it was so messed up and clogged, that it may have been shifting wrong back then.
So, what do you guys think?
Why is the ABS light on?
