First time post...long time watcher.

I got a puzzler of a problem with my 1995 explorer expedition 4.0V6.

I have had it to the mechanics 3-times over the past year about this check engine light being on.
CEL light comes on and engine will stumble or feel low on power intermitently.
Last time the mechanic saw it he reset the CEL and it stayed off for about a week then came back on. This cel stayed on for about a month then.....we got a real blast of arctic cold air for about a week here in calgary. Well this is the funny part....the very first day of the -30degree weather the cel went out and stayed out until the very first day the outside temperature increased suddenly to 0degrees, the the cel came back on and has stayed on till now. Seems odd that the cel would only go out when it gets very cold outside....and yes the truck ran normal during that cold snap.
Any ideas as to what could cause this? It must be temperature related yes?

thanks:exp:

1st. time.....mech. changed egr and ptfe.
2nd. time....mech. changed tps and temp sensor
3rd. time.....mech. changed coolant and mechanic said it was the cam sensor but did not change it because it was discontinued.

get the code read, when the light is on,

could be the iat like mine did,, changed the inlet air temp sensor code gone
