'95 Explorer Expedition
First of all great forum I have been lurking for a while. I have searched this forum and I haven't found the exact info I am looking for. I have a 95 Explorer Expedition that has many problems. I pulled out the overhead display out of the console to see if I could use the solder fix on it. No go on a 95, different circuit board. Since I have pulled it down my power windows have stopped working and my 4wd and 4wd low lights have started flashing; six times every so many minutes. Will these problems be tied together? Is it the three relays I have read about so many times going bad? On a 95 are they in the fuse/relay box on the driver's side under the hood? I couldn't find a relay box under the dash above the gas pedal like I have read about. I know it is a lot of questions but any help would be great. Thanks in advance for any responses.

I also have a 95 Explorer Expedition. I am happy to see I'm not the only one, as the guy at Auto Zone told me its either an Explorer or Expedition but not both. I was like, NO, I know what I am talking about lol! Is it a 2 door?

Anyway, your overhead console display being pulled out should have nothing to do with the power windows and 4wd lights. My console burned up because my roof was leaking and water got in there. So I pulled my console completely out, it was out for about 4 months until I bought a new one on ebay. I never had any problems with anything else while it was out.

If your truck is like mine, relays seem to go out quite a bit so I would check those. The power window relay also operates the power locks and the power seats. This relay is located under the hood, driver side in the power distribution box towards the back.

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180814 There is a pic on that page showing the relays under the hood.

As far as your 4wd lights flashing, I can't help you there as I have no idea. Hopefully someone else will have some info.

There is also relays in the rear of the vehicle where you open the side to get to the rear window washer fluid. They are located next to that. Those are for power locks, but I have no idea if they also have separate ones for the windows. If you have a manual should be in the back of the book!

Good luck!

4 wheel drive system is also in the power distribution box under the hood! For this and the power windows, it is actually the big fuses, not the relays. I read the pic wrong and forgot there was fuses and relays in that box.

First of all thanks for the reply. Yes mine is a two door also, red and silver with tan leather. Everything worked fine except I couldn't control the passenger side door from the driver's side until I removed the overhead display. My sunroof is leaking also, the other reason I pulled the overhead down to see if I could get the sun roof switch to working. 95's are so much fun, nothing like a 94 and almost nothing like a 96. Just a good ole oddball.:dunno:

I straight up agree with you on that, oddball! lol! 2 of my drains on my sunroof were plugged so it was filling up with water and flowing into the roof. I have to replace the material on the roof cuz now there is water spots. My explorer is green with grey interior. I'm looking to paint it, and paint the inside as well. Got alot I want to do to it!

Seems like everytime I have a problem though, something is always different because its a 95 explorer expedition. My goal right now is to get the damn Code 42 on my airbag light cleared, and figure out the wiring in the steering column, because that is a big ole mess! Good luck, and if you have any other questions about your 95 let me know. I'll try my best to help!

Update, found my problem. It was me, lol. When I was pulling out the overhead display the dome light was staying on and burning my hand as I was trying to disconnect everything so I pulled the fuse for the light. Little did I know that same fuse feeds the power windows, 4wd and the Accy. relay, dang I'm dumb.

Good to hear you got it fixed. We all make mistakes lol
