I have a 95 explorer XLT and would like to upgrade to the JBL radio can anyone help

what exactly are you after? a little more info would help a lot. Do you just want a new head unit? Budget?

Hello mike

Thank you for responding, well at first I thought that the JBL system would sond better than tha current premium system the factory installed but I am not sure that is the case but the main problem I have been having is with the cass player it plays tape great but when I want to use the MP3 cassette tape adapter it wont work it drives me crazy so not sure what to do

The MP3 adapters tend to provide a little more resistance, and the head unit sees it as the end of hte tape, and keeps changing the side from 1 to 2, and it never really plays. My Taurus would do the same thing. The JBL (a little more power but not much more and a small subwoofer) will sound similar to yours, about the only thing you can do to make it sound a little better is turn the bass and treble all the way up, that makes a Ford system sound a little better, but for real upgrade for the best value, find a $100 Pioneer and slip it in there. I put one in with a jack on teh front to plug my MP3 into, and it works awesome...

no problem but i would have to agree the jbl system would not really be much of a improvement over the premium sound system. Depending on what you want to spend im sure that we could find you something to meet your needs.

this is what I had in my last car and it was a very very good unit for the price. I use onlinecarstereo.com a lot and they have really really good customer service (Shameless Plug) :p: if you need anything more im sure there are a lot of members here willing to help point you in the right direction
