It's a 300 inline 6 with a 5-speed. He has had issues getting it into first gear for a while, but getting it into another gear seemed to help, it would go into first after that. About a week ago the clutch was stuck engaged. They tore it apart and the slave cylinder was leaking (only 2 years old). They replaced it along with the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Got it bled and started it up, now it won't go into any gear. It goes into gear easily when the truck is not running. They pulled the access panel and the clutch plate is moving about 2" with the pedal. Any ideas?

There's a cast metal plate that the clutch and brake pedals hang from. Look closely at it for a crack. That happened on my F250. The broken plate flexs when you push in the clutch, and takes up enough of the piston travel that it can't go into gear.
