95 Ford Explorer Speed sensor

Hi gang,

Hope someone can help me out? My O/D light started flashing and I did the disconnect the - terminal for 20 minutes to clear the memory. After doing that the truck shifts fine for about 4 miles and the O/D light comes back on. Back to square one.

I went to Autozone and they can't come up with a code. My thinking is it's the speed sensor or the Pcm? I don't want to toast the tranny so if someone had a similuar problem can you help me with a remedy? Again it's a 1995 Ford Explorer 4x2 4.0 6 cylinder.

try a search for "O/D light flashing" . If I remember correctly, it means a problem in the tranny.

i have been trying to figure out a speedometer problem and tried unpluggin the speed sensor and it made my od light flash...might be something to do with the sensor
