Hello everyone I am new to this whole forum thing. But maybe you can help. My 95' Ford Explorer will start and drive me from point A to point B but then when the truck is shut off it won't start up again until I let it sit for a few hours or more. But the tricky part is that sometimes it will start and get me from point B to point C and then won't start after shut off. Does anyone know what could be the problem. Hope you can help me figure out what is wrong.
Thanks

Assuming the starter cranks, but the engine wont start when hot/warm, perhaps a bad coolant temp sensor (the one for the PCM, not the sender for the temp gauge). If not, fuel pump maybe, check fuel pressure at rail when it doesn't start. Should be around 30-35 PSI for a '95.

Sounds a bit like the coolant temp sensor as it will start once the engine cools down.

Fuel pressure for sure. I had one with similar symptoms that had a fuel pump going bad.

If it’s not cranking at all, I would check the starter and various relays.

Try pounding on the gas tank with a rubber mallet the next time it won't start. If it fires right up, then it's a worn out fuel pump.
