Hi guys. I found this forum today while searching for some answers to my problem and hoped you would be able to help me out.

Last fall my radiator developed a leak and while driving the truck it all ran out but it didn't overheat (by the temp needle) so I didn't know anything was wrong until I saw the white smoke coming from the back of the truck.

I took it to the shop and they confirmed that the head was warped. The trouble is we are talking about a high mileage, 1995 Ranger with a 4 cyl. engine. The repair was going to cost more than the truck is worth.

I decided to give it a try on my own. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I do a lot of the repairs on my own but this is a pretty big job.

They put the pieces and parts in the back and I towed it home. They also put all of the bolts/nuts in one box so it's a bit of a chore to sort it out.

I'm just now able to dedicate some time to the rebuild and have started. I have the new head on and the valve cover back on and started to put the lower intake manifold on and I'm not sure which bolts go where. Two of the eight have threads going all the way with a "nut" part of the way down the bolt (I can't remember what that's called).

Could someone explain which bolts go whrere or post a picture showing the bolts on their 2.3L engine?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

...I haven't tore mine down but do you have a Haynes manual???

Yes, but all it says is to use the eight lower intake bolts. If someone could post a picture of the intake side it would help me a lot.

It doesn't look as though I can post any pictures yet.
