Hi everyone, my 95 Sport has a slight problem with the oil pressure. Lately I've noticed that the oil pressure gauge isnt staying right in the middle like it normally should. Whenever I start it up it only goues up 1/4 of the way, when i rev it the gauge goes to normal but then eventually falls back to 1/4. It also varies while I'm driving, around town it will stay a 1/4 and will go up to normal if i give it gas or climbing a hill, but on the highway it stays at normal. I checked the oil and its full, and i did an oil change about 1,200 miles ago. I was wondering if the oil pressure sender is on its way out because I know these trucks have issues with them. I'd apreciate any help on this.

That could be a whole lot more than a "slight" problem! LOL

You can throw in a new sender and see if that fixes it. It's not a difficult job. Or, better yet, you can remove the sender and screw in a mechanical gauge and check and see just exactly what your oil pressure is. If it's fine, try a new sender. If not, you know you have other much more serious issues to deal with.

Well heres an update, today while goin to work and comming home from work the gauge stayed at the normal half way even at idle. Now I'm starting to think that it is the sender goin bad.

Mostly likely the sender.

Its not a real gauge. It should only read halfway or nothing.

where is the sender located, i know its on the driver side of the motor

Left front of the motor...up by the timing chain. Access is through the driver's side wheel well.

Update, I replaced the sender and now my gauge is reading normal like it should. Thanks for the help.
