95 trans slip

My 95 4x4 when cold shifts great. However after 10-12 miles it wont shift. Most of the time you can let off the gas and it will shift, or you can manually shift it pretty good. Any ideas on what would cause this. thanks,mike

Same problem, just started today. 1994 A4LD, except manual shifting doesn't work well ... the 1-2 shift comes really, really late unless I let off the accelerator. The rest of the shifts seem (relatively) okay.

I know the ATF is screwed ... it's dark brown, overfilled, and it stinks -- last owner of this EX probably never changed the fluid. Am dropping the pan and changing the filter first thing in the morning ... hope like h*ll it's not too late.

This is scary. Looking for advice, fast (well, besides "don't neglect your ATF again!"). Sheesh. Just started an auto tranny class at my local votech ... this happened about 16 weeks too early
