our explorer does not seem to want to start after it rolled. First crank it started to turn over but didn't aftetr that all it does is sligtly move but does not turn over. Battery is good, read 12.5volts, and i replaced it with the one in my mustang and same thing. Fuel cut of switch is fine, i checked wasn't even activated with a 55MPH hit. Any suggestions? it would seem like the starter is stuck or something

not sure about the later ones....but my 1994 has a fuel cutoff switch underneath the truck....it cuts fuel to the engine after a roll to prevent a fire from happening....check out the owners manual...it should be near the framerail and the gas tank......

oops i didnt read your entire post, sorry.....recheck the fuel switch...turn it the other way and see if that changes anything......if that doesnt work, try to pull codes if any.....and when trying to start it, are you giving it enough time to boost the energy or are you just trying to start it? also if the battery is bad, it may not have the current needed to start it....take it to a local parts house and see if they will load test it for free.

Check all your fluids. Make sure none of them maybe "mixed" in with some others. Check the wires and make sure that everything is still connected and intact(don't forget grounds). Also....if it turns over once let it sit and try to pump the gas while you do it. Maybe all the fuel went back to the tank rather than to the TB.

How did it happen??

well it doesn't turn over that the problem, just tries, but doesn't. like if it was stuck.

Some dumbass was not paying attention and ran a completly red light, hitting the explorer dead center, and flipping it, car was doing about 50-60, didn't even toush the brakes.

If the vehicle sat on it's side or upside down for a while, you might have a cylinder full of oil or antifreeze, which would prevent the motor from turning over. Try removing the spark plugs and cranking it over by hand (put a socket wrench on the crankshaft and turn it). If no fluid comes out of the spark plug holes and it still won't turn, you may have some internal mechanical problems. If it turns over and fluid comes out, crank it over several times by hand to clear as much fluid as possible, or suction it out of the spark plug holes before you try to start it for real.

I feel for your X. My '92 rolled and got totalled when my wife avoided some idiot that pulled out in front of her (she found the ditch)

good luck. Hope no one got hurt!!
