Alright, some of you may have seen my tranny post in here. Well, I also have a smaller issue with my hood shocks. They are pretty worn out, as they no longer always keep the hood up. (Not nice on a cool morning when I would check my AntiFreeze level [when it was leaking] and the hood would suddenly drop!)

Well, I went to Canadian Tire, and bought some Strong Arm shocks. (Model 4026). Lets just say, they didn't fit. The holes are the wrong size (where they attach to the truck). So, I returned them, and went to Autovalue, and they gave me the same ones. Strong Arm, code 4026. Funny thing was, I only looked at the one. It had a different hookup (pull a plastic tab up instead of using a screw driver to pull off a metal clip) and it looked like it might fit. Got it home, it didn't. Checked the other package, different type again! Same model number, different kind of hookups. So, I brought it back. Then I drove all the way to NAPA (The main warehouse in Calgary here) and THEY had the same bloody things. :fire:

So, my question is this. Does anyone know the correct replacement for these? If I order them through Ford, they are like 80 bucks. I'm not dying over that price (compaired to a very possible tranny rebuild as well) but my concern is that those may not fit either!

Anyone replace these before?

Thanks,

Dave
