96 explorer misfire

I have a 96 explorer 4.0 that has a misfire in #5 , I had a computer hooked up to it at advance auto and thats what it read, i was wondering what the problem could be and what any troubleshooting tips would be. I bought a new spark plug to put in if thats the case. I bought it from my bosses brother who said he put new plugs and wires in 3 months ago, which im pretty well trusting he did im just hoping thats the problem so i dont have to replace the coil pack.

if the guy really did do new plugs and wires it pretty much sets it up as the coil being the issue.you could try replacing it again, maybe the gapping isn't quite right.
