96 Explorer V6 4x4 Bank 1, Sensor 1?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what O2 Sensor is Bank 1 Senor 1? This would be on a 96 Ford Explorer, 4x4, V6. Thanks in advance. Mike

this is definately one of the O2s on the Y pipe before the CAT but I'm not sure which side...possible the drivers side? i just did the O2s on my xplod3r but all 3 of them were hit Bank 1 Senor 1, Bank 1 Senor 2, and Bank 2 Senor 1 heh but at least they are the same so you can get one from the store and not have to worry about returning it. its bosch part # XX717 (i forget what the X's are) i know im a great help...my first post

Bank 1 sensor 1 is the one on the left side before cat.

Bank 1 is the passenger side; sensor 1 is indeed the upstream one, before the cat.

I didnt get the code but my mechanic told me that bank 1 sensor 1 sensor needed to be changed. BTW, that was a very interesting artical. Thanks
