96 explorer xlt dual batteries

Hey guys,

I've been pondering over my ex for a couple weeks wondering where I could put a sceond battery for the thing and so far I have come up empty handed. Has anyone put another battery in a 96' xlt with a pushrod v6?

I seen that one but for some reason that area seems more cluttered in mine than his.... I was looking at the back of the XLT though. I found a cubby hole behind the left rear tire. I have made a wheel well to prevent mud from packing in the rear bumper and anywhere else it gets so I thought about making a metal box that would house abttery up in there and make a hinge mechanism on the chrome beauty sleeve that attaches to the quarter panel. What does everyone think about that? Does anyone know of a reason why that wouldn't be a good idea? The reason why I am doing all this is because I am wiring my "X" for 110V AC use also like a travel trailer. I am wanting the second battery to have in case their isn't a place to hook-up and use on to run some electric.
