I went to a custom muffler shop this today to see about dual exhausts on my 5.0. He told me they cant put in duals because the brake and fuel lines are in the way. Has anyone else heard of this or is this guy being over cautious...

he did tell me he can put in a flowmaster single setup (dual inputs with single output) and it will give me the sound i am looking for. It was about 300 for it...does that sound right??

i would just do hi flow cat and replace your stock muffler with the flowmaster..leave everything else..but that's me

I was told the same thing once for my '93 EB. It is possible to run the dual exhaust though. You can extend your lines and tuck them up and out of the way. Are you thinking of getting the complete Flowmaster catback system? I'm just waiting on my tax refund to roll in and I'm getting the Flowmaster 50 series exiting the side, but having it split to look like the Gibson dual sport.

But have that tucked in more so it's not so exposed and tacky. For a single side exit it should be much less than $300. I'm about to call and get some quotes too. I'll let you know what they tell me.

My guy relocated some brake box so it wasnt in the way. I still have the spare too.

dont get any high flow catsunless yours are bad or clogged ford has very good flowing cats however on your 5.0 there are 4 of them cut 2 off it will still able to pass emissions with just 2

i wouldnt be changing my cats, just the muffler and tail pipe

Price sounds about right for the duals. My shop also told me that they didn't want to run the one on the drivers side because of the fuel lines. I just waited till I did my lift and then I removed the spare tire so that they would have the extra room under there.
