An easier way to do it would be to just go to Best Buy, or any car audio shop and buy the universal harness they offer. I don't know the wiring from the 96' though so I'm no help there good luck.

its the premium no cd p100 stereo. When I put in my HU i chopped off the factory black plug and just wired evrething direct. But the connector is sold somewhere i jsut cant remember where.

he skanalax thats what i did too is cut the factory black plug but i just dont know which of those wires goes wear got a color code off yours or pics or anything???

umm i dont have any pics because all the wirring is way back...i got a digram off this site...i searched and found the wirring diagram....ill see if i can find it

just a word of advice, i would never cut the factory harness, the universal ones are so cheap and easy, then if you sell the vehicle or go back to stock all you have to do is plug it in.

the way mine is pretty neat. My first aftermarkey HU(some cheap cd player) on the speaker wire end came with a hraness so i am using that as the harness for the speaker wires so it is plug and play. So when i switched to my pioneer HU i unpluged the el cheapo cut off the speaker plug suadered it up to the Pioneer hu, and pluged it in.

darn man thats not it
heres the colors of my wires and none matched on that site:
blue/white grey brwn/grn black grn/blk tan lght blu/pink white/pink
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

did you look at the amp side or the radio side of the diagram?

and on mine i only cut off the black plug wich had like 16 wires comming out of it.

it was on the back of the stock stereo like bottom right coner i think balck plug with 8 wires and the power was the other plug long grey one which my adapter fitted so i figured these 8 were the speaker wires so i cut the plug and tried splicing in but i cant get any sound PLZ PLZ HELP MY G-FRIENDS GETTING MAD!!! LOL =-)

If you are sure these are speaker wires, can you try connecting wires to either end of a small battery to determine which pair connects to which speaker? Once thats done, are you sure the stereo is wired to correctly? See if you can connect just one speaker and get sound.
