'96 lift help!

ok, so I know that i can do a torsion lift on my 96 XLT but can you really notice the 2" that it lifts? i want to find a lift between 4" and 5". also, are there any other ways that i can lift it, either suspension or body? are there any from superlift, or skyjacker, or any other companies that are reasonably priced? i have looked everywhere and i cant seem to find one. another question.. would i have to have it installed by professionals and how much would that cost? or can it be installed by a non-professional?

As far as being able to "notice" a lift I can tell when my XLT is sagging as little as a 1/4" so a 2" lift is very noticable compared to a stock-height Explorer. You going for looks or for off-road capabilities?
