Rubbing after lift.... HELP!!!

Hey guys,

This past weekend I put on my PA 3" body lift. Combined with my Skyjacker 2" lift I figured I would have plenty of room for my new BFG AT/KO 32x11.50's mounted on Eagle 589's. The only problem is that the front drivers side tire rubs against the rearward portion of the fenderwell when I turn the wheels hard to the left. The rubbing is even worse with the slightest suspension compression. I wonder why the pasenger side doesn't rub? Since its not a problem I'm not worriesd though. What can I do to remedy the problem I am having on the drivers side? I have heard of people trimming the fender wells.... but how do do that... or are there any other alternatives???

Also, I hate the way the steering binds up with that crummy extender thing, so I ordered one of those Flaming River steering shafts which should be in tomorrow. Any tips/advice on putting that thing in, or is it pretty straight forward?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Steve

Wow that really, really surprises me that with 5" of lift you can't fit 32's. People put 31's on stock and you've got 5" of lift. Also some people are running a 4" suspension lift with 32 and 33's. I have no idea what could be wrong.

well it's not that bad, just the corner like i said. but it is extremely annoying.

Any suggestions?

Anybody?

Don't feel so bad, I had 6"s of lift and had MAJOR rubbing on plastic, steel and the front bumper with my 33s.

SAWZALL!!

Everyone grunt now

seriously,

What do you do after you hack it up with a sawzall??? Just put some primer and some finish paint and go with it?? I don't know about this idea guys.....

Don't let'em scare you, Steve. Sawzalls ARE our friend (AR AR AR), but it doesn't sound like you need one. If you only rub at hard left, you are most likely rubbing on plastic, not metal. The plastic inner fender is easy to cut, just get down in there and look for signs of rubbing to show you where to cut away. Tin snips work great.

I've found that the Dremel is much better it doing precise, clean cuts... that is my recommendation.
