I'm looking for some advice about a 1996 Ford Ranger, XLT Super Cab, 4x4, automatic, 4.0L V6 EFI. It looks decent for a ten year old truck, with new tires, 103,000 miles, and the guy is asking $4,500 for it.

I looked it up on CarFax, and it had some maintainance done at 45,000 miles, and everything else pretty routine.

It's in my price range, I'm just wondering if it is due for any major problems based on the mileage, year and model?

if it was taken care of properly the only thing to worry about is the auto tranny. but even that might last a good while. but i think he's asking too much for it. kbb is about $4500 and trucks and suv's aren't selling for what they are worth anymore with gas the way it is (or atleast the explorers are going way cheap and a ranger is kinda like an explorer) soooo u should get a better deal imo. it would have to be loaded out and super clean for that price. i've been seeing people picking up newer explorers for way way less than kbb.
