96 X with 00 mountaineer front end

Just got done changing out the front end on my X, replaced the running boards with 98 model rocker trim, lowered it and put new 18's on it. I will start on the back soon, click to see picture of B&A.

thats a mounty front end not just bumper... the lights on the mounty look more pointed on the ends than the explorers.... looks good.... streeted out

I bought the grille, headlights, mounting panel and bumper assy. for $175.00 exchange for my X stuff. It is pretty much a bolt right on deal, the only drilling required is the hood latch piece that goes on the hood. I had a friend of mine paint everything with some primer then shot it white. I just liked the way the mountainer headlights compared to the X's. I did buy it all used, even found a broken grille to get the center bars to replace the mercury emblem. The wheels are wheelreplicas.com bullitt 18x9 in the front with 255/55/18 Toyo proxses S/T's. The rears are 18x10 with 275/55/18 Toyo Proxses S/T's. expo 5.0 I like what you have done to the grille, looks bmw'ish.

WOW! thats sweet, i want to do the same thing, i need a whole new front end anyways! Do you have a write up of how to do it and how much it cost you to do it? did you do it yourself.

Did it myself, not very hard. Unbolted the one in the salvage yard and mine, then bolted it on mine. Just make sure and get any thing and everything you think you might need.

The wheels are 18 inch Bullitts's with black centers. The only problem is I can not get the front center cars on over the hub. Spacers will make the wheel stick out from under the wheel well.
