I have some questions regarding the factory setup on my '97 X 5.0L. What is the size of the mass air flow sensor and throttle body on this engine? How many lb./hr. are the stock injectors? I have the Apten chip on order through the group buy and am thinking of upgrading other components at the same time to avoid the cost of reflashing further down the road. Thanks alot, ibuytoys.

i think they are 19 # injectors and the mas is a 66mm

not sure on any of these numbers though... so dont get all mad if they are wrong ;)

jimabena74............ you were close enough.......
It has 19# injectors and 65 MM throttle body

So would the mass air be woth upgrading. I'm looking at the 76mm unit from C&L or the 77mm unit from Pro-M. Anybody have any opinions on these two units? I think I'll leave the TB alone for now, 65mm should be sufficient for now.

Fuel components

There are more knowledgable people here on the board, but imho, unless you are doing other mods to your motor (either cams or blower) you won't see much improvement from changing these.

My old roommate from college told me to get another Mustang mass air meter, cut the post out of it, and send it off to Pro-M to recalibrate it for 19# injectors. Unless you start messing with the cam, intake, cylinder heads, ad induction, you will not need a bigger mass air meter.
