97 Billet Grille Hood Latch Issue

I know you can install a hood latch from a 98 but is there anyway I can just leave it how it is and once the grille is installed move the latch with a screwdriver, putty knife?

I have a billet grille on my 95 ex, and im pretty sure the latch is in the same spot as yours in the grille. All i do is keep a long flat head screwdriver in my console to access the latch. No big deal, all i do is pop the hood open and take the screwdriver and slide it in between the openings on the grille and move the latch and it opens.

I have been doing the screwdriver deal for over a year now. It gets old. If you can install the 98 release, I would do it. I need to do it, just been so busy with other stuff, I haven't gotten to it yet.

If you do it, post a picture of it would ya?

i Just installed the 98 hood latch/release on my 97 Xlt. Very easy and straight forward. had to fabricate few things though. not a direct bolt on. if you need help or want a right up just PM me.
